Doomsday Diner Combat Guide: Bandits & Diner Defense

In Doomsday Diner the fight comes to you: bandits raid the diner mid-service to take your earnings. This guide covers what official sources confirm about combat — and marks clearly where the released build still needs first-hand verification.

What's verified: bandits attack the diner and can steal tips; you carry a weapon with its own official upgrade track ("Your Handy Weapon"); bandit bullets can be reflected; a Hot Sauce upgrade can kill bandits; and combat produces bodies that you then have to clean up. Bandit types, weapon lists, and damage numbers are not officially published.

Why bandits attack: your money Official

The store listing pitches combat as an economic threat, not a separate mode — bandits come for what you've earned. Steam achievement data makes the mechanic concrete: "Not So Fast" is awarded for killing a bandit who has stolen tips before they leave the diner. That sentence establishes that bandits can steal tips and can be killed before they leave — and no more. Where tips sit, whether killing the thief gets them back, and how long you have are not officially documented. Needs release-build verification

Your weapon and its upgrade track Official

"Your Handy Weapon" is one of the three official upgrade categories, alongside Cooking Equipment and Your Diner. Official sources do not name the weapon, list alternative weapons, price any upgrades, or say how the track is paid for — so neither do we. What kind of arsenal the track builds into is a release-build question. Needs release-build verification

The real difficulty: multitasking Official

The official copy stresses that fights happen during service — the tagline is "Chaos! Cooking! Combat!" in that order. Orders keep expiring while you shoot, and everything you kill becomes a mess to clear (see cleaning).

Not yet verifiable

Bandit variants, spawn rules, weapon stats, ammunition or reload systems, and any boss encounters: none of it is officially documented, and we won't invent it. Gaps close via release-build verification, tracked on the updates page.
